How to Migrate (4 Simple Steps)
Follow these steps to migrate from V1 to V2. Your V1 history will sync automatically.
Create a Browser
In the dashboard, go to Browsers → Pair Browser and create a new browser (e.g., "My Chrome Browser").
You'll receive a 6-digit pairing code .
Pair Your Extension
Click the Incognito History V2 extension in Chrome and enter the pairing code.
This securely links your extension to your V2 account.
Your History Syncs ✨
That's it! Your V1 history will automatically migrate within a few minutes.
Check the History tab to see your browsing data.
Pro Tip: Enable in Incognito Mode
- Right-click the extension icon in Chrome
- Select "Manage extension"
- Toggle "Allow in incognito"

Migration FAQ
What happens to my V1 history?
Your V1 history will automatically migrate to V2 when you pair your browser. No manual export needed. The sync happens within a few minutes after pairing.
Do I need to reinstall the extension?
Most users received the V2 update automatically via Chrome Web Store. Check the extension popup — if it asks for a pairing code, you're on V2. If not, reinstall from the Chrome Web Store .
Will I lose any data during migration?
No. Your V1 history remains safe and will sync to V2 after pairing. The migration process is automatic and preserves all your browsing data.
Do I need to pay for V2?
V2 offers a Free plan with 14 days of history retention. You can upgrade to Starter (30 days), Pro (60 days), or Premium (90 days) if you need longer retention. Check pricing in the dashboard.
Can I still use V1?
V1 will continue to work for now, but we recommend migrating to V2 for improved stability, better features, and ongoing support. V2 is the future of Incognito History.
How long does migration take?
The pairing process is instant. Once paired, your V1 history will sync within a few minutes. Larger histories may take up to 10-15 minutes to fully sync.
I have multiple browsers — do I need to pair each one?
Yes. Each browser needs its own pairing code. V2 supports up to 10 paired browsers per account, so you can track history across all your devices.
